Cheval Blanc Randheli: The Most Luxurious Hotel in The Maldives
Of all the hidden sanctuaries tucked away in the clear emerald waters and white sandy islands of the Maldives, Cheval Blanc Randheli is the most elegant and impressive.
This is the inevitable result of one of the world’s leading luxury hotel groups, LVMH, deciding to put down its roots in one of the world’s most spectacular destinations: the Maldives.
Cheval Blanc Randheli Private Island resort is found in the calm Indian Ocean, more than 600km from the nearest mainland. The small collection of private islands is based around a 1-ha main island, accessible only via a private berth and jetty, that has been meticulously designed to set a whole new standard among the most luxurious hotels in the maldives.
We recently visited Cheval Blanc Randheli to discover for ourselves just what makes this resort so special. We were warmly received by Chevel Blanc’s “art de recevoir”, the art of welcoming, with staff stopping their duties and bowing to us every time we passed by. And somewhat surprisingly, this level of attention and service only continued to impress and delight us throughout our stay.
Luxury Amenities From Another World
As you would expect from Chevel Blanc, the facilities and amenities are on par with the most luxurious hotels in the Maldives and the world.
But as the group takes a different approach to vacations than most luxury hotel chains, staying there and experiencing their offerings doesn't feel like being at another resort, it feels like being in another world.
One of the most noteworthy and breathtaking amenities at Cheval Blanc Randheli is the resort’s private Spa Island. Taking a private Dhoni, a small traditional boat used in the Maldives, over to the Randheli Spa Island feels like something from a majestic work of fiction.
It's so inviting, you may like to spend all day there (10am - 8pm), dipping in and out of single wellness treatments, including the Maldives' only Guerlain rituals, or going deep with a personalized full-day immersion. Whatever you choose, you’ll want to complement it with the nutritious dishes and captivating views of the Spa Bar.
The amenities at Cheval Blanc Randheli are spread across the main island and several private islands:
- A Spa Island dedicated solely to spa rituals and well-being.
- Yoga and meditation delivered outdoors with Master Puneet.
- A fully equipped and spacious gym with Technogym equipment and personal classes.
- A private island dedicated to exercise and sports like tennis.
- Golf simulator.
- Dive Centre with motorized water sports.
- Kids Club and Teens Club with football, table tennis, PS5.
- Boutique Store with exclusive brands such as Hublot, future Louis Vuitton section.
Emotional Experiences & Immersive Activities
Cheval Blanc Randheli is located on the islands of Randheli in the noonu atoll, a chain of 71 small islands (only 13 inhabited) that is famous for its lagoons and intact coral reefs that are home to some of the world’s most intriguing and beautiful marine creatures.
As you can imagine, this makes Chevel Blanc Randheli a true haven for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts, from beginners to experts alike. Those serious about diving will feel right at home with big fish dives that put you among dozens of sharks, rays, and schools of barracuda and jacks.
Back on or near dry land, there are plenty of activities to get your heart pumping and/or soothe your soul. This is a signature of Cheval Blanc—they know the ingredients of a satisfying luxury escape. Namely, ivory white sand beaches across six islands, a whole island dedicated to exercise and sports, and a specialist team dedicated to emotional experiences, whether you're looking for romance, adventure, or rejuvenation.
The style at Cheval Blanc Randheli island is ultra-personalized experiences and personal touches:
- Tailored sunrise Bootcamp
- Mini-Moke picnics on secret beaches
- Surprise birthdays organized by Le Carrousel
- Apéritifs in a private igloo
- Dolphin cruises and exhilarating excursions
Secluded Accommodation & Warm Maldivian Service
Designed by Jean-Michel Gathy, the man behind some of the most iconic luxurious resorts, each villa at Cheval Blanc Randheli is grand in scale but personal in detail.
With intimate touches by French artist Vincent Beaurin, Leonor Greyl, and the nose of Christian Dior, Franҁois Demachy, the villas are a treat and relief for the senses. Unique, custom-made artwork is also hung and can be bought in each villa. Cheval Blanc has orchestrated the spaces to be not only places to rest, but as living, breathing galleries to touch, feel, and inspire.
Although the villas are very secluded, you will feel completely cared for and at home. Upon entering your villa, you will be welcomed by warm staff with fine pastries, chocolates, champagne, and hand-written letters by the general manager, spa tea, and designated personal butler—who is available via WhatsApp for whatever you may need.
The 45 villas at Cheval Blanc Randheli are split between overwater villas, island villas, and beach garden villas:
- Each villa features a pool, hammock, loungers, and a huge daybed.
- Villas boast rain showers, including alfresco showers and oval bathtubs.
- Villas have almost private access to the ocean or beach.
- One villa is on its own private island, with four bedrooms, a one-bedroom cottage, and dedicated staff.
- Beds are clad in the finest white or taupe cotton.
- Interiors are inspired by driftwood and shells, with petrified wood and ceramic pieces by Gaia.
- The vast open spaces can be divided into smaller rooms by swiveling oak panels.
- Each villa is equipped with complimentary bikes, with golf cart being the main mode of transport.
The Private Island Dining Experience
Dining on a private island in the middle of the Indian Ocean brings a whole new aspect to the idea of gourmet. Your senses are heightened, ingredients taste fresher, and every bite is that much more satisfying.
