The 6-day itinerary is fully revealed to participants. However, here we are excited to share with you a sneak preview of what you can expect in the Run to Monaco 2023.
Day 1 Run to Monaco: Rome
The first night of The Run to Monaco is when the select group of participants from around the world are warmly welcomed with an aperitivo and opening night party in one of Rome’s famous old landmarks.
Guests enjoy an intimate evening with performers from across the continent, before retiring to get some well-needed rest in the first, and certainly not last, extremely lavish accommodation for the night.
Part of the infamous Dorchester Collection, The Hotel Eden is the first resting stop on The Run to Monaco 2023. The Eden is an imposing building that has sat proudly at the top of the legendary Spanish steps for over 130 years, with the picturesque Borghese gardens just behind.
Once the headquarters for the British military command after World War II, the historic structure is now a Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star hotel that has hosted the likes of King Alfonso XIII of Spain, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, and Roberto Rossellini, among other famous names.
One of the most luxurious addresses and meeting points in The Eternal City, The Eden Hotel offers a unique spa, Michelin-star worthy cuisine, and a magnificent rooftop bar with cocktails created especially for Kings.
Day 2 Run to Monaco: Tuscany
After a restful night at The Eden, the Run to Monaco supercar adventure kicks off with the cars laid out freshly polished and valeted on a start grid, always in a special location and with surprises such as rock bands, flames, and even grid cows to create an exceptional atmosphere.
There simply could not be a better route to begin the journey. Heading East and North through Umbria and Tuscany, participants will zip up and down immaculate roads, with rolling hills and vineyards in every direction as far as the eye can see.
After a full day of wholesome driving, eating, and sightseeing, participants arrive at their second nightly pitstop: Castello Di Reschio, an almost unbelievable centuries-old medieval castle rising proudly out of the Umbrian countryside.
With church bells ringing in the distance, Castello Di Reschio is a homage to the area’s rich past and a step into its innovative future. The vast estate is home to 9 bespoke farmhouses with private swimming pools, a restaurant with locally or home-grown / foraged produce, state-of-the-art tennis courts, 40 pure-bred Spanish horses, and a team of local custodians such as fisherman, truffle hunters, tennis coaches, and stable hands.
Day 3 Run to Monaco: Portofino
Waking up in the serene Tuscan countryside, you may not want to leave. That is, if you weren’t hopping in your own valeted supercar to head to another mystical destination via miles of epic driving.
The route heads North through the beautiful valley of the river Elsa, takes the back-roads past the ancient cities of Florence and Pisa, and ascends into Liguria and the dramatic Apennine mountains.
The landscapes here are breathtaking and diverse, ranging from craggy and mountainous to rolling green hills, with dozens of small towns, or borgos, many hundreds of years old, tucked away in between the hills and valleys.
After soaking up some of Italy’s most spectacular landscapes, the route swings South and arrives at the iconic coastal travel destination of Portofino. A home-from-home to stars such as Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, Portofino is a picture-perfect village set around a U-shaped port that is on par with St Tropez.
The accommodation for The Run to Monaco 2023 in Portofino is Bellmond’s Hotel Splendido. Catching the eye of Walt Disney and Charlie Chaplin, among other luminaries and royals, Hotel Splendido is a former hilltop monastery turned 5-star resort with lush private gardens, enchanting views over the Gulf of Tigullio, and all the luxuries you could need after a few days of intense driving.
Day 4 Run to Monaco: Monaco
Day 4 of the Run To Monaco 2023 (Friday) is traditionally known as driving day, appreciating the fact that Monaco has been a prized destination for car rallies for over a hundred years. All roads lead to St. Jean Cap Ferrat for a weekend at the world’s most glamorous race, the Monaco Grand Prix 2023.
Famous for its food and wine, participants first head north from the coastline into Piemonte to enjoy one of Lonely Planet's top regions in the world to visit. Heading into the High Alps, participants wind through breathtaking scenery before descending and catching a glimpse of the spectacular Côte d’Azur.
Home for participants over the weekend is The Hotel Royal Riviera, the ultimate in sophistication occupying a prime position on the Cap-Ferrat peninsula with its own private sandy beach. Participants enjoy a fast-and-sleek thirty-eight-foot Wajer Osprey tender to zip around the iconic coastline to Port Hercules in Monaco, as well as The Run to Monaco superyacht—the most fun and chic place from which to enjoy Michelin-star food, cocktails, and, of course, the Monaco Grand Prix VIP experience.
Day 5 & 6: The Monaco Grand Prix VIP 2023
On days 5 and 6 of the Run to Monaco 2023 (Saturday), participants are invited on board the Run To Superyacht for the complete Monaco Grand Prix VIP experience, starting with watching the qualifying—key to victory in Monaco—up close.
That night is when the Run to Superyacht transforms into the most legendary party in the port—known to include famous live bands, Formula 1 drivers, animals, breakdancers, liquid nitrogen, and much more.
Every driver dreams of first position in the Mythical Circuit of Monaco—the slowest and hardest of the Formula 1 World Championship where one mistake makes all the difference—and Sunday is the day they get to make that dream a reality.
Monaco is steeped in motorsport history and has witnessed some of the greatest moments in F1, making it the perfect way to culminate an incredible week of driving. If that wasn't enough, Sunday evening allows participants time for a quiet dinner by the sea or a night out at the hottest parties in town.
On Monday morning, the adventure draws to a close with participants returning home and the beloved automobiles being looked after and transported under the stewardship of the Run To team.
