WELCOME TO NEW ZEALAND

  • Day One: Overnight Blanket Bay, Glenorchy

Welcome to New Zealand. Aotearoa - (The Land of The Long White Cloud) as it was named by, Maori explorers, the first peoples of New Zealand. Aptly named, this maritime landmass in the South Pacific does indeed capture cloud, wind, intense sun, rain and everything in between, making this a wonder of geographic and historic adventure.

Upon your arrival in Auckland, your dedicated EliteLyfe host will meet you and accompany you on a transfer to a helipad where we'll board a private flight bound for the Southern Lakes District. Our destination is Blanket Bay. Set on the shores of Lake Wakatipu amidst the rugged snow capped peaks of the Southern Alps, Blanket Bay is where relaxation and adventure meet - this luxury retreat is the perfect introduction to New Zealand, and the deep South.

Settle in to your luxury chalet, soak in the lake and mountain views, and enjoy your first taste of fine kiwi cuisine, wine and hospitality.

HELI-HIKE EARNSLAW BURN

  • Day Two: Overnight Blanket Bay, Glenorchy

This morning there's ample opportunity to relax and soak in the Lake Wakatipu views before boarding our helicopter to fly into the mountains of Mt Aspiring National Park. This wilderness area of steep peaks, deep green forests, waterfalls and U-shaped valleys. This zone is the definition of pristine and this birds eye view will showcase it in all it's glory.

We'll land in the alpine basin at the foot of a spectacular glacier, and hike down the once glacier covered valley, following the stream that the huge icefall above us feeds. before we descend from the alpine tundra into the forest, we'll enjoy a chef prepared lunch and hear stories of the geological and natural history of this region from a prominent New Zealand mountaineer.

We'll board our helicopter once clearing the forest and head back to Blanket Bay for a welldeserved break. The spa experience at Blanket Bay is second to none, and is an ideal option for a post hike rest.

Enjoy a chef-prepared dinner overlooking the lake.

RAKIURA ISLAND ECO EXPERIENCE

  • Day Three: Overnight Blanket Bay, Glenorchy

Tucked away at the southern tip of New Zealand, Stewart Island is a remote haven of untouched wilderness. With a population of just over 400, its isolation offers a rare escape from the modern world. Here, rugged coastlines, dense forests, and windswept beaches create a pristine environment for exploration. Unique wildlife, including the iconic kiwi bird, thrive in its dense forests. Seals, dolphins, and even rare southern right whales frequent its waters. Stewart Island's tranquility, biodiversity, and rugged beauty evoke a step back in time.

We'll take an incredible helicopter flight across Foveaux Straight, land in Oban - the main settlement of Rakiura (population of only 400, but the coffee is still great), and take a private boat to Ulva island. This is one of the only open Island wildlife sanctuaries and shows a glimpse into New Zealand’s ancient past. With expert wildlife guides we'll explore the island, discover it's natural history and what is being done present day to preserve New Zealand's fragile ecology.

We'll fly back to Blanket Bay for our final restful evening lakeside.

BLANKET BAY, Glenorchy

Set on the shores of Lake Wakatipu amidst the rugged snow capped peaks of the Southern Alps. Blanket Bay is where relaxation and adventure meets luxury accommodation, unparalleled service and five star facilities. For an unparalleled experience the fully serviced villa has it all. Shared spaces within the Villa are centred around the grand lounge, bar and chefs kitchen.

Returning to the lodge allows for lounging by the fire-pit, exploring the expansive property, or perhaps recharging in the hot-tubs. DUSKY SOUND WILDERNESS

  • Day Four: Overnight at Minaret Station

We'll depart Blanket Bay this morning and head west by helicopter and deep into the heart of Fiordland National Park. Our destination is Dusky Sound, only accessible by helicopter or ocean going vessels. This region is utterly pristine.

After a stunning scenic flight, we'll land on a custom-built floating helipad before boarding a private boat to enjoy a day of fishing, discovery and wildlife viewing. This exclusive day expedition features the cuisine reflecting this area - abundant sea life including crayfish and other delicacies only found here and an exploration of the pristine shoreline of this World Heritage Area to retrace the steps of explorer Captain Cook. The archaeological evidence of Cook’s visit can still be seen in the tree stumps cut by his crew for timber used to repair the vessel, Resolution in 1773.

Later we'll board our helicopter from our floating heli pad and fly north over Mt Aspiring national park to Minaret Station - a private, luxury lodge accommodation set in a remote glacial valley surrounded by towering peaks, accessible only by helicopter. Comfortable in every sense, with warm hospitality and world class cuisine, Minaret Station Alpine Lodge is truly an extraordinary location to escape the “real world”. Family owned, with more than fifty years hosting guests from New Zealand and all around the world.

THE SOLITUDE OF MINARET STATION

  • Day Five: Overnight at Minaret Station

Wake up in the wilderness this morning and take time to soak in this ancient glacial valley There are a number of option on offer today - from fly fishing, alpine landings and hiking to horse trekking. All of which can be done without a single living sole in sight - a huge wilderness all to yourself. Your host is always on hand to offer the options and build out your dream day.

If kicking back and relaxing is your preference today, there's no place better. A private chef if on hand to deliver exquisite mountain cuisine with local wine preferences to match.

THE SIBERIA VALLEY

  • Day Six: Overnight at Minaret Station

This mornings flight will take us into most beautiful part of Mt Aspiring national Park. Our helicopter will drop us at the geographical wonder that is lake Crucible.

Surrounded by towering walls, Lake Crucible is a circular alpine lake that lies behind the terminal face of the glacier which hangs high above. Through all the seasons, large chunks of ice fall from the walls above and remain floating in the lake. If you're prepared to brave the cold, a swim in the lake is an option!

 

We'll walk down through the alpine beech forest below the lake, take in a gourmet wilderness lunch and arrive at a wide open river valley flanked by alpine meadows. We'll be met by a jet boat on the banks of the Wilkin River for a riveting high speed ride down the river valley. We'll arrive at the frontier village of Makarora and board our helicopter back to Minaret Station to catch the later afternoon/early evening light that is captured here like nowhere else.

MINARET LODGE, Minaret Lodge

Enjoy 3 nights in the heart of New Zealand’s backcountry. Accessible only by helicopter this luxury lodge is set in a remote glacial valley surrounded by towering peaks.   • Day Seven: Overnight at the Penthouse

No visit to New Zealand would be complete without a day to soak in the sights and sounds of Queenstown. This idyllic, yet bustling town serves as an escape from the real world and is the perfect springboard for adventure and leisure alike. With fine dining, boutique shopping and a number of hidden secrets for spa and rejuvenation, there is a little bit or a lot of something for all tastes.

It's a short but incredible flight from Minaret Station. We'll land at Queenstown airport and take a very short transfer to Eichardts Private Hotel. An architectural beauty on Lake Wakatipu, Eichardt’s Private Hotel has welcomed travellers through its doors since 1861. Here, old-world luxury and grand service prevail, while access to one of the world’s most exciting and vibrant destinations is just a step away.

JOURNEY TO THE NORTH

  • Day Eight: Overnight at Solitaire Lodge

This morning we'll head North and begin our exploration of the North Island, which offers a stark and equally as intriguing and beautiful contrast to the South Island.

We'll board a private aircraft at Queenstown airport, bound for Rotorua, the cultural heart of New Zealand. Rotorua is renowned for its rich Māori culture, world-class spa and wellness experiences, otherworldly geothermal landscapes, and incredible backyard of lush forests and sparkling lakes.

We'll land in Rotorua and take a short private transfer to our private lodge. Solitaire Lodge Rotorua, one of New Zealand’s premiere luxury lodges, enjoys breathtaking views over Lake Tarawera, with lush natural bush and volcanic landscape backdrop. The subtle design bringsthe outdoors in, inviting you to unwind and soak up the peace and quiet. Enjoy a 5 course degustation dinner this evening, showcasing local fare with wine to match.

POUNAMU CARVING + TARAWERA FALLS

  • Day Nine: Overnight at Solitaire Lodge

Being in the cultural heart of New Zealand, we'll meet with a respected Maori greenstone artist. Pounamu - commonly known as jade in other parts of the world - is considered a sacred and a natural treasure under the protection of the gods. It is treasured for its strength and beauty, and is associated with many symbolic qualities, including status, spiritual authority and the connection to ancestors.

This morning you'll have the opportunity to see first hand how Pounamu is designed, carved and gifted as sign of welcome, honour and respect.

This afternoon, we'll take a private boat across lake Tarawera before embarking on a walk through spectacular sub-tropical rainforest. Our destination is Tarawera falls, a stunning 213 foot waterfall that spills out of the mountainside, seemingly from underground. We'll return to our private boat and cruise back across the lake to Solitaire Lodge.

SOLITAIRE LODGE, Rotorua

  • Day Ten: Overnight at The Landing

We'll take a short transfer to Rotorua Airport this morning, before taking our private aircraft to the ''winterless North'' AKA The Bay of Islands. Infused in both Maori and European history, the Bay of Islands is considered to be the birthplace of New Zealand as a bi-cultural nation, and is now home to many diverse cultures and people. It is also a maritime wonder - with over 140 picturesque islands, offering endless opportunities for sailing, kayaking, and dolphin watching. Remote beaches, historic sites, and lush forests complete this idyllic escape. The ultimate retreat to properly honour this uniquely historic and spectacularly beautiful part of New Zealand is The Landing.

From the moment you set foot on The Landing, you will have arrived at a special place. Miles of sun-soaked white-sand beaches and an epic marine playground call you to swim, dive, fish, surf and explore. The native forest and wetlands ring with birdsong and at night New Zealand’s shy native icon, the kiwi, emerges to meet you.

There’s world-class food and wine to enjoy in incredible settings. And around every corner, history whispers in the wind.

THE BAY OF ISLANDS EXCURSIONS

  • Day Eleven & Twelve: Overnight at The Landing

These two days are yours to choose from the multitude of experiences on the doorstep. The Landing has six private beaches ideal for swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling or relaxing on the golden sand as your children play in the safe, quiet waters of the bay.

The skippered private vessel Iti Rangi is available for you to cruise the coves of the peninsula to fish and encounter seabirds and other marine life. Or if you like to chase big game, the luxury sport-fishing vessel Ata Rangi can be taken out for the day or overnight for some of the best marlin, tuna fishing in the world.

The Bay of Islands also offers incredible scuba diving, and wreck diving, including the famous Rainbow Warrior and HMNZS Canterbury, parasailing, and hole-in-the-rock cruises.

THE LANDING, Bay Of Islands

The Landing is the vision and personal passion of Peter Cooper (Ngāti Kahu, Ngāti Kuri and Te Aupōuri), a Northland-born New Zealander who divides his time between New Zealand and the United States. Situated in the far north of New Zealand’s North Island, The Landing is home to some of the world’s most spectacular coastal scenery, and is known for long sunshine hours, marine leisure activities, and access to exceptional fresh produce and seafood.

The Landing is located on the southern tip of the Purerua Peninsula, in the northwestern Bay of Islands on the site of the first bicultural European and Māori settlement in New Zealand A 55- minute helicopter flight from Auckland City, the 1000-acre property boasts six private beaches, four architecturally designed residences and a private chef available to cater all meals.

The Landing has a private boat available for sight-seeing cruises and water activities. On-site activities include wine tastings, kayaking, paddle-boarding, biking, tennis, guided kiwi-spotting walks amongst one of the densest kiwi populations in the country.
